Savigny Les Beaune ‘Futey’ 2006/07 - Pierre Janny, Burgundy

French Red Savigny Les Beaune ‘Futey’ 2006/07 - Pierre Janny, Burgundy

A wine made from 100% Pinot Noir, showing classic aromas of cherry, kirsch and vanilla. On the palate is revealed a rich, dark sexy Savigny with generous rich fruit flavours.

Starting between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Beaune, the Côte de Beaune area is the southern part of the Côte d'Or, extending southwards to the River Dheune, the limestone ridge that is home to the great names of Burgundy wine. Red Côte de Beaune wines are noticeable for their aroma and their warm bouquet. They have a tendency to a slightly lighter body and a quicker maturation than the Côtes de Nuits.

A family run winery, Pierre Janny produces superlative examples of well-known Burgundy appellations and one with whom we have worked for many years. The latest 2004 vintage of Savigny-les-Beaune is drinking nicely now but will mature beautifully for many years to come.
