Rioja Gran Reserva 2004 - Jaun de Alzate, Spain

This wine is only made from exceptional harvests and is a wine to savour in all its glory. Powerfully full-bodied, this robust Rioja is deeply aromatic, balanced and elegant with an intense red brick colour. It has spent 4 years in oak casks and a further 3 maturing in bottle before its release. A top-class Gran Reserva Rioja.

Our flagship range of premium quality Rioja’s from the Bodegas L Casado in the Rioja Alavesa. This pretty bodega has approximately 40 hectares of vineyard with vines an average age of 40 years. Eighty-five percent of the vines are the indigenous Tempranillo with the remainder comprising ‘blending’ varieties such as Graciano, Mazuelo and Garnacha. One of our personal favourites is the 1995 Reserva:
