Pouilly Fuissé 'Les Margolliets' 2009 – Pierre Janny, Burgundy

This pale gold Chardonnay provides pleasing aromas of apples, pear and honey. After a good initial impact on the palate, it opens with power and richness, finishing on lemony notes that provide an attractive freshness.

Wines from the Côte Chalonnaise and the Mâconnais region have gained in importance and popularity as affordable alternatives to the higher priced wines of the Cote d’Or. The Mâcon whites from 100% Chardonnay are lemon fruity, fresh and supple. The village wine from Montagny is vinified in a traditional style and matured without oak.
