Polo Amateur Chardonay 2009 - La Chamiza, Mendoza, Argentina

Argentinian White Wines: Polo Amateur Chardonay 2009 - La Chamiza, Mendoza, Argentina

Delicate aromas of pineapple, banana and citric notes. Fresh and bold on the palate with a pleasant and persistent finish.

La Chamiza winery is located in the province of Mendoza, Argentina’s most important wine growing wine region. The vineyards are found in the oldest and most traditional wine growing regions of Argentina, known as the ‘first zone’. This includes the districts of Luján de Cuyo and Maipu along the Mendoza river.

In bygone years, the vineyards were populated with polo horses, and it was here that the studhorse called La Chamiza was found. It is in honour to these animals that the winery and its vineyards are named. The range of single grape variety Polo Amateur wines from La Chamiza have been carefully crafted to extract the maximum varietal expression from both noble and indigenous grape varieties. Why not try something different with the highly aromatic white Torrontés, the beautifully balanced and smooth Merlot or the rich and voluptuous Malbec.

We are also pleased to launch our first sparkling wine from South America, called La Chamiza Extra Brut. Made by the traditional method from a blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Chenin Blanc grape varieties, the wine is an exceptionally fresh and fragrant bubbly, ideal for any occasion.
