Perrier Jouët Belle Epoque Rose 2002, Epernay, Champagne
A seductive pale salmon pink champagne which encapsulates all the qualities of summertime in a glass – sweet strawberries and a hint of rose petal. Sumptuous!
Perrier Jouet is a small boutique champagne producer based in Epernay producing some of the very best prestige Champagne Cuvees available.
When Pierre-Nicolas-Marie Perrier, a cork merchant from Epernay, married Adele Jouet in 1811, they created the House of Perrier Jouet. Perrier Jouet’s defining moment came in 1902 when the House commissioned Emile Gallé, one of the most famous proponents of the Art Nouveau movement, to create a special bottle to house the very best Cuvee. Gallé produced 4 exquisite hand-enamelled magnums, featuring his famous anemone motif. Over a century later, the Belle Epoque motif has become the definitive symbol for all that Perrier Jouet represents: a refined, elegant Champagne.
Aged for a minimum of 5 years, Belle Epoque is a blend of wines from the top vineyards of Cramant, Avize, Ay Mailly and Verzenay. The blend consists of Chardonnay (50%), Pinot Noir (45%) and Pinot Meunier (5%) and has been an award winning success with a Gold Medal at the International Wine Challenge 2003 and a Silver Medal at the International Wine & Spirit Challenge 2004.
