Moulin a Vent 2007 - Domaine de la Croix Rouge, Beaujolais, Burgundy

Ruby red in colour with a slight mineral note. Full bodied, very fruity with light spicy notes.

The Domaine of the Red Cross is located in Moulin-a-Vent, one of the 10 cru’s of Beaujolais, also regarded as the finest and most distinguished cru. Moulin-a-Vent like Brouilly and Cote de Brouilly is not a village, but a number of selected vineyards on a series of slopes and gets its name from an ancient windmill that stands proudly alone on one of the slopes around the villages of Chenas and Romaneche-Thorins. The soil is sandy on large plateaus of granite at about 800 feet above sea level and the average age of the vines is 55 years old.
