Côte de Beaune Villages, Monthelie Savigny 2007/09 - Pierre André, Château de Corton André, Burgundy

French Red Wines: Côte de Beaune Villages, Monthelie Savigny 2007/09 - Pierre André, Château de Corton André, Burgundy

Intensely ruby red coloured with garnet reflections. A sexy bouquet of seductive ripe strawberry, raspberry and blackcurrant. Spicy flavours reminiscent of nutmeg and star anise combine with discreet and silky tannins; and an impressive length.

In 1923 one man fell in love with a very special place: Château de Corton and the Corton Hill on which it proudly stands - “The Hill of Miracles”. Château de Corton is the only standing Chateau classified as Grand Cru in the Côte de Beaune.

The Corton Hill vineyards produce truly rare and marvellous Burgundies which are at the very peak of the region’s finest wines. They now offer a wider selection of Grands Crus of Corton than any other producer and are considered a specialist of Corton being based at the famous Chateau de Corton.

Now rated Top 10 Great Burgundy Houses from Decanter Magazine, and mentioned by Jancis in her recent FT weekend column as the one of the top 4 most improved and recommended Burgundy Houses, Corton Hill vineyards produce truly rare and marvellous Burgundies, which are at the very peak of the region’s finest wines.
